We had the same problem and solved it by doing a final rinse at the end of each load and adding white vinegar to it, about 1/2 cup. When you are done with the washer leave the door open.
I use white vinegar!
Vinegar is what I use. If you live in a humid area, leave the door open.

There is a pod you can buy called Affresh. You toss it in the washer 1x a month to was the washer.
I use white vinegar and run it through the wash cycle.
