Can someone tell me how to get rid of fruit flies or gnats?
I've heard they say to put a small dish of vinegar out on your countertop and it attracks them and when they check it out they are caught!
yes! and add a few drops of Dawn liquid dish soap too. It really works!
You can make a fruit fly trap. Cut a plastic bottle about 2/3 of the way up. Remove the screw top lid. Squirt a little dish soap in the bottom, add 2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar, 1 Tbsp sugar, 1/2 cup warm water (dissolve the sugar). Place the top inverted into the bottom. They will fly into the neck to get at the solution but won't be able to escape.
I usually set out a cup that is a water and vinegar mixtures. I place plastic wrap along the top, secure it with a rubberband and pokes holes in it. It attracts the fruit flies, they go in the cup but then can't come back out.
