How can we protect our mottled copper backsplash from heat (pic)?
Apparently it needs protection from the heat. Does anyone know if you can get tempered glass or something that can protect it that you can still see through?

Have you tried acryllic or glass panel?
Go to a place in your community that sells glass. (they typically also install mirrors and such) They usually also sell Plexiglas. They will cut a piece to size for you.
Do not use acrylic, it’s plastic, it will not like grease splatters, it scratches & it will yellow over time.
Your local glass shop can cut you a piece of glass and hone or polish the edges.
How you want to “hang” it, is the next question. I would use a mirror channel that would be behind the stove top and at the very top. Usually they’re chromed steel, but maybe a copper tone could be ordered.
Mirror clips could be used if you don’t like the channel idea.
Good tip from Cheryl, would hate to see you have indentations from cooking in plexiglass, glass sounds like the best solution.
I would hang it by creating a channel on the top and bottom to slide in and out sideways, very basic and simple to do. Paint the channel to match your decor.
