Margarita! Mold is SO serious! Hire a professional for all of these problems... and fix the source of the mold
White vinegar will kill mold spores. However, if it's black mold you should probably have a professional do it. If you decide to tackle on your own, there is also a product for mold erradication sold at Lowe's. You will need a respirator and basically a hazmat suit.
Spray bleach will kill most mold. All mold / mildew is not deadly. Then find the source of your water leak or humidity problem. As there is little ventilation in an attic you need to wear a respirator.
Yes get 2 pros involved:
a roofer and a pro mold treatment company.
mold spores are getting into your home. You’ve already inhaled a lot of them.
See my other answers on mold where I explained that my mold poisoning experience almost killed me & my hospitalization/treatments were over $7K.
Just think, $7K would go a long way on fixing the mold.
Cheryl is absolutely correct. Those that think mold ISN'T deadly are sadly misinformed and need to educate themselves better. A quick call to any physician on the plant will tell you we are correct. Mold remediation is a big deal. Heavily regulated by the EPA and only licenced professions are allowed to do the work. From what you describe, this is not a simple homeowner DIY. Call a mold remediation company today!
Hi Margarita - There are several ways to get rid of mold, but most importantly, you need to address the root cause to keep it from returning. This article focuses on the bathroom, but is an overall great article that covers methods of how to remove mold, if bleach is safe to use, and how to prevent it from coming back. Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly
