How do I rid the kitchen of little black gnats?
I cleaned the disposal and took the fruit off the counter and placed a bowl of vinegar near the sink but still have the gnats. Any new ideas to get rid of them?

The only thing that comes to mind is make sure you’re using apple cider vinegar. The apple scent is what attracts the gnats. Other types of vinegar won’t work. Also...you have to give it time to rid the area of the gnats.
place lavender candles around the area, also lavender essential oil on a cotton ball and place it in the windows. Since I rarely open my windows I place the cotton ball at the top of the bottom window and press it into the corner, so its not overly visible. Hope this works.
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp water
a squirt of dish detergent
Take a 20 oz soda bottle, cut it 1/3 way down and unscrew top. Pour mixture in the bottom. Invert the top and place in the bottle. They will fly in and get trapped.
I use a condiment container, the ones you get from take-out. You can also purchase a 'many-of-them' package. I carefully removed the center of the plastic top. The lid fits but has a decent hole in the center.
I add Apple Cider Vinegar and put plastic wrap over the container. Then I put on the plastic top (with the hole in the center). I make sure that my plastic wrap stays tight.
I then poke holes in the plastic wrap and place by the sink faucet.
When they get really bad, I place others where the little nasty's are gathering.
Last summer I moved into a basement apartment and they were well established, I never got rid of them but I did thin the herd. This summer I put one of these by my sink, long before any arrived. I have hardly seen a one flying, and just a few floating in their vinegar spa bath.
Good Luck!
