I have an electric Piano / keyboard that I can’t sell locally and want to know if I can make anything out of it instead of taking to the tip

You can always donate.
is it up on legs? make it into a small table or bar take off legs- maybe a shelf-- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzKP266u60Q; no legs on it,turn it upside down add a bunch of pendant lights turning it into light fixture; hang on wall add hooks to make a coat rack or clothes ;donate to local homeless or battered womens shelters or even local boys & girls clubs, local community center for the kids to use;take apart for recycling of parts;take off the keys and glue them around picture frames or large mirror;use the keys to make yourself some new house numbers;glue the keys onto lampshade or drill holes in keys and hang them from wire cage as shade these would look nice with keys hanging from them http://healty-white.me/15-indoor-gardening-present-ideas-for-plant-lovers/ here are lots more https://www.google.com/search?safe=active&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS750US750&q=wire+cage+for+lampshade&tbm=isch&source=univ&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwi_6IDR_eDjAhXSup4KHTFqBswQsAR6BAgDEAE&biw=1366&bih=657
Hi Ian, here's a lovely video that has a whole bunch of ideas on how to repurpose old pianos - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llSx2aOuMRQ Perhaps one of them will inspire you
Yes, I would suggest instead of spending money trying to 'transform' it, donate it to a local elementary school, scouts, brownies, church group, or thrift store.
You could also post a (free) ad on Craigslist under Items for Free, or post it on Freecycle.org.
I would have to agree with Flipturn, donate it if at all possible. A few years back we had a piano-a spinet-and decided to replace it with something more practical, it was to the point of no one playing it and just taking up space. We had a really hard time finding it a new home. They are so heavy to move.
There are people out there who would love to have your electric piano, so keep looking on the donation trail...maybe a starting out band, beginner taking lessons, retirement communities...
Donate it. Advertise on face book market place / Craig's list for free. Call some churches that have "modern" Christian services with a band and or other religious faiths. Schools. Music schools . A non profit nursing home may have folks that can play for the seniors. Senior center may love it.
