How can I get a stain out of vinyl flooring?

I have vinyl flooring throughout my basement. Some cardboard boxes were stored in a room for a long time. I want to turn that room into a guest room now, and there is a large yellowish stain where the boxes were. It's not really in a place that I can cover with a rug. Any suggestions as to how I can remove the stain?

Try hydrogen peroxide in hot water. 1 cup to 2 gallons.

Let us all know if it works for you, as I didn't think anything would work on a heat stain like that. If it does, then it might also work for white bath panels too???
Hi Erika. I hate to tell you this, but the discoloration is permanent. You can, however, paint the floor with the paint used on tubs and countertops. You can even use a stencil and create a patterned floor. The paint and floor stencils are not extremely expensive and you'll have a wonderful "new" floor!
Go to a rug center and get a large cut remnant to fit or almost fit the room. Your stain is permanent most likely - it has gotten down into the fibers of the vinyl.
Have you thought about using floor tile stickers? Such an easy and affordable product!
