How can I fix cracks in the basement caused by flooding?
My house flooded three times after storms and power outages for the pump wasn't working. Our pump has a back up now but the cracks are there and some are growing in length. I called a professional(more than one) 3 years ago. Quite expensive, and delays and more delays until I had to take care of another emergency and used the money I had for the repairs. Reading different solutions for the basement cracks, read about kits to fill the cracks(epoxy I believe) another solution, some kind of membrane. Anyway I decided to take care of it myself, one way or another. Can anyone tell me what works (I cleaned the floor well, even removed the side boards for it was a finished basement, I can see the outside wall covered with black substance, tar? Will appreciate any positive input.
