Here are some ideas from Hometalk: https://www.hometalk.com/search/posts?filter=DIY%20outdoor%20pillows
The key is the upholstery fabric & the foam.
You’ll need 100% synthetic material, as in no Rayon, no Cotton, no Flax, no Ramie.
I would use solid foam, not batting. If batting gets wet, it’s going to be a mess to pull out & let it dry.
i would see them so that they have Velcro closures, so that I could clean the fabric without saturating the foam. And if they get wet, take them apart.
we have two porches with ceilings but otherwise open. They both have cushions/pillows on them (the side porch is screened in) but with the exception of the iron settee which does have weather proof fabric (was on it when I bought piece) none of the pillows or cushions have other than very ordinary fabric. The rattan chair cushions are covered in fleece. The front porch pillows/cushions are all from our town swap shop. When it rains these are brought inside. The side porch furniture we cover if rain is threatening. Unless you live in a very sunny dry area I would not bother with outdoor fabric.
Hello Dana,
Use a shower curtain to make a pocket like a Bed pillowcase.
