You may need an exterminator - but start with washing EVERTHING that can go into a washer, with HOT HOT water, and put in the drier. Vacuum everything - then take the Vacuum outside immediately to clean it out / change the bag. Get bug bombs- set off leave for the day. If you rent call the landlord.
This seems to be a fairy comprehensive article, maybe it will help. https://www.doyourownpestcontrol.com/bed-bugs.htm
Diatomaceous Earth. You can get this at Home Depot, etc and it is inexpensive too I paid $10 for a bag. It is safe for pets and children too. You will need a bottle with an open tip like a picnic ketchup bottle to puff the earth out of. I mixed my earth with a little salt and puffed it down into furniture and around all the legs of the furniture as this is how they climb up. You can also put it in carpeting around your furniture and around all the legs of the beds and around the seams of mattress and box springs. Also along the baseboards of each room. Within a week or 2 you will see no more. When they crawl across the powder it takes all the moisture out of their bodies and kills them. They become dehydrated shells. You can put it right down in your furniture and sit on it with no problem. When they crawl across it anywhere trying to get to you, bang, dead. I had a bad infestation from a family I took in for a little while and mine were gone within a month.
I wouldnt mess around with DIY for bed bugs. From what I understand, they can get into baseboards, behind walls, and other places impossible to reach with normal treatments. I'd call a professional and have them come out and evaluate exactly where they are in your house (room or rooms). Then see what they suggest for treatment. Usually involves high heat, etc. Expensive yes, but I wouldn't mess with them!
Professionally would be the best way.
thank you all for your advice
