Hello, I have seen a mesh like double sided carpet tape for sale in the hardware stores tape department- could that be a possible solution?
You can get double sided carpet tape at Home Depot. It should be in the carpeting section. We used it a while ago for a small threshold area rug on a step that kept moving. It worked really well. The adhesive is extremely strong though. So just to warn you, when I removed that rug, I had adhesive on the tile underneath that I could not remove for the life of me. I think I was able to finally remove it using a steamer and scrubbing very hard. Chemicals did not work well to remove the adhesive. But on the other hand, the adhesive will hold the rug into place.
