Can you spray paint rusted stovetop burner grates?

I just moved into a house that has old rusty burner grates. I was wondering if I could sand and use heat resistant spray paint to make them look better???
Thanks!

You can sure give it a try. Be sure to use a good brand of heat-safe paint.
BBQ paint will take the heat. I would get the rust off first.
I don’t think heat resistant paint is made to withstand open flames. It is used for applications such as the outside of a grill. The temperature of open flames would be much higher and could cause a fire. I also think they are porcelain coated, not painted.
