The gutters have that nasty dirty streaking. First, how to clean gutters and those streaks off? I want to paint eves and really don’t like color of nasty gutters either. Would you clean only or could you paint them? And what kind of paint to use?

thanks?

Hey Ariel! Thanks for sharing this website! At least I have some idea for cleaning and painting. I think I’m going to put the painting off until next year

Thanks again and Happy Labor Day!

What a great idea to paint them! I don't see why not as long as you use an exterior paint.

Hello, Your gutters can be painted but, they need a protecting finish as the stuff you see on your gutters are coming from the trees. This is what ours look like too. We are surrounded by woods. Each year we end up with the dirt and now moss that comes off the tree. I am goint to wash with some hydrogen peroxide and then see if I can find a paint that contains something to prevent this from happening every year. I hope you find your solution too.

    Hey Sharon!

thanks for your feedback! I would be interested in what the peroxide does for your gutters! There are 2 links in previous suggestions that you might want to check out on cleaning them.

I’ll let you know how mine turn out as well.

    Thanks!
