I use Wright's silver polish as it has a little sponge inside the container. Very easy to use.
Thank you
There are silver polishing products out there on the shelves, read up on the paste types.
Hi Deb
So far I’ve used Pot ash, then Ketchup , then Milk , then a solution of vinegar and water. Oh yes woolite.
Other than the silver polishes. I’m not crazy about using the chemicals because it breaks down your silver over time and also I’m allergic to most of the smells . I was most impressed with the Pot ash and the milk .
If you use Pot Ash be sure your ash is fine ash. If it’s think and lumpy you’ll scratch your surfaces.
I’ve used woolite to clean my fine jewelry and it works beautifully.
No chemical residue and no scratching I just have used it on large silver pieces.
Milk ( whole milk) works absolutely wonderful! I was so surprised!
you have to let the piece sit overnight for the best reaction though and you must cover the entire piece. It does get into every crevice and rinses and polishes great.
Ketchup works too I was very impatient with it and I didn’t like the mess and Vinegar and water solution is alright you end up spending a lot of time trying to figure out the right combo for each piece . I just gave up and went back to the milk.
I hope this helps some .
Ive also heard Wright’s makes a good polish if you don’t mind using chemicals too.
Good luck 🍀!
