How can I remove old paint from a steel door?
I was going to paint an steel door that old paint felt tacky. After washing it real well I notice a place where the paint seamed ready to peel, which I couldn't help myself and peeled away. Now half of the door paint is peeled off and the other I can't get it to peel. I can't take the door off so how can I get the rest of the paint off?

Use a heat gun to blister the paint and peel what you can. Sand what is left and prime before repainting.
It certainly would be worth a try. It might work, especially if the paint is soft to begin with.
I just use paint stripper.
