How do I clean ash and candlewax off of a concrete hearth?
I have a hearth that is large formed concrete blocks and I have a red candle that dripped on the blocks as well as ash from the fireplace. How do I get the ash and the candlewax off the hearth?

For the ash, try TSP cleaner. One of the strongest cleaners you can buy. Start up high, and work your way down. I have used this myself to scrub a fireplace. Wear rubber gloves. For the wax. I would take some newspapers (a thickness of at least 6 sheets), and try placing a warm iron and ironing the spot - the wax should collect onto the newspapers. Move the newspaper as the wax collects. Then scrub the area with a scrub brush and TSP.
