What kind of stove are you painting behind Rosamaria? If it is your kitchen stove you can use regular wall paint. Water-based paint, such as latex, acrylic or vinyl paint are not flammable. If you are painting behind a wood stove that may require a different paint or some other heat resistant material.
GK is correct. Kitchen stove ...regular paint. Wood stove should have a fireproof product behind it. Wall panels, tile, etc. If you have the recommended clearance regular paint should work.
Normal paint. In a kitchen you want a higher sheen for easy clean up. I don't like a ton of shine in paint, so I typically get satin.
