I bought some bricks, and made a fake hearth.
If you want or you could just stain it. There are lots of different colors on stains on the market now.
Most heaters should not be placed directly against walls because the air intake will be blocked, although some heaters are designed with the air intake in the front so they can be placed against the wall. Check the owner's manual for details regarding the correct placement of your specific model.
WRAP some bricks in tin foil & put them under the legs. It can be wrapping paper or plain paper or contact paper to resemble the floor or legs to blend in & be less noticeable.
You might consider arranging some landscae bricks underneath it (with something under those to be sure not to scratch your wood floors of course! Check out the electric woodstove in this cute cottage. If you look closely you can see they've done the bricks. I'm doing something very similar in a client's beach cottage but don't have photos yet. http://www.house-crazy.com/kvale-hytte-cottage/
Love the table. It's perfect. You can leave it as is or paint it. I love the mixture of wood and paint. Leave the top and drawers wood and paint the case. Maybe a dark color.
Glass bricks would work and look nice.
