You could re-laminate them or use Contact or cover with Tile covers or use Mosaic tiles or hardwood or Use special paint finish for the job, or Decoupage or paper and cover with heat resistant glass (Like worktop savers)..........Hope that's of some help. You could even stick down coins and use a waterproof grout if you wanted. and seal of course........

Hello, I think you could paint the backsplash a different color, just use painter tape to tape off all the areas you don't want to get painted. Hope this helps you out
