Can you give me some guidance on engraving glass?
I want to start learning to engrave glass /glasses (drinking ones not the ones you wear lol) I have a Dremel tool/s just need some guidance what/how to go about this. Is there a specific thickness of glass that's best to engrave I was thinking perhaps as a start to doing this was the glass in photo frames? or should I go to a glass shop and get some different types of glass have seen you tube videos but thought ask all the experts on here thanks for reading this. thank you amazing the first thing I see is a glass with my name on it ironically lol
Secure the glass pane over your image using masking tape. Use a Dremel rotary tool to carefully trace the image located underneath the glass with small strokes. Dremel accessory bits for glass etching include carbide cutters, diamond wheel points and silicon carbide grinding stones. Recommended speed: 25,000 rpm.
You can use in combination with etching cream. Dremel the design and fill in with etching cream. Photo frame glass is inexpensive so practice on thrift store pieces you pick up for a song.
thank you
Try to practice on dollar store classes use stencil and trace with your tool then fill in with the tool
