Can you successfully mix metal finishes?

I am a senior, diy'er, and remodeling my kitchen … attempting to create modern farm look. I am wondering if you can successfully mix metal finishes on such items as lights, cabinet pulls faucet … just need some direction from an interior decorator or a fellow diy'er with a good eye! Cream color shiplap walls, light gray cabinetry, cream/distressed tile as backsplash. This house, 30 plus years old, has a golden colored tongue and groove pine floor, white appliances. Thank you.

Since cabinets are grey I would stay with silver metal. Yes you can mix and match but don't mix gold and silver fixtures. If you find something not to your liking in color spray paint it to match with metal paint. Some of the hammered metal sprays are great. I repainted a white hanging dining room light silver and it is beautiful.
Without seeing your kitchen I would suggest brass pulls and knobs for cabinets or gun metal. Think that would compliment the walls, cabinets and appliances.
For sure I would got with silver tones on gray cabinets.... I usually put a clear coat on hardware that will have daily use, like a satin finish is soft, and you can use high gloss too.

Choose complementary metals for accents. In general, brass, copper, gold, and nickel have warm undertones, while stainless steel, chrome, and other silver metals give off a cooler look. Matte black is fairly neutral. Although you can mix warm with cool. But keep in mind rustic kitchens often took what they could get, so there was always some mixing of everything not just metals.
