What can I do to fit a larger TV in my fireplace niche?
the 42x42 inch fireplace is ok, but the niche above it only allows for a 38" tv. there are 2 doors on wheels that slide out and close to hide the 38" tv. there is only 2 ft left above the niche.the niche is 3 feet deep and on the back wall are all the tv connections

Without construction that may be the largest tv that will fit. Can you post a photo? Maybe we can figure out other options.
Agreed-a photo would help. TV niches are usually a bit short-sighted for that reason. Tech is always changing and screens keep getting bigger. The best things may be some drywall work.
We had to build out a support, in the middle of the niche, to support a wall mount TV hanger. Once that was put in, and the wall mount, we were able to mount and hang the TV.
