Set your dishwasher to the hottest temperature setting possible. Start the regular cycle, but stop your dishwasher once the bottom is full of hot water.
Add 2 cups of distilled white vinegar to the water at the bottom of your dishwasher. Allow the solution to sit for at least 30 minutes.
Dip a scrubbing sponge or an old toothbrush into the vinegar solution. Scrub the interior of your appliance, paying close attention to the corners, small crevices and the grooves along the rubber seal. Close the door and finish the cycle.

After making sure the dishwasher is free of any food particles, place a cup of white cleaning vinegar in an open dishwasher safe container on the upper rack and run a short hot cycle.
