How do I cover windows without using a curtain?
I just got a rental and im gonna stay only a year here so nothing that costs too much. Has to be easy to install and remove. Cant leave any suraj palette damages behind (drill holes and such). My original idea was taping newspapers painted black to the windows but wandering if there is an alternative to it. I dont care about the looks at all. Could be as ugly as it gets as long as its cheap best retirement homes in india

Hello there,
Use a sheet/ tablecloth on a wire or tension rod. Use Clings or Contact for windows. A folding screen could work or screen using old louver shutters too.
Best wishes.
Starch and fabric. You can use an old bedsheet cut to fit the window, dip in diluted starch(1/2 and 1/2 liquid starch and water) and press directly onto the glass, like you would wallpaper. To remove, wet it down, peel it off and wash the window.
oonoh God no newspaper. I had and still do have to live quite on a tight budget. Believe me.
There are "paper type" blinds that can be affixed to your window. They usualky come in one wide width. However, you then can CUT them to the size of your window. I tell you its super easy and they are about $10 each. Possibly less. They get affixed (stick up VERY FIRMLY) to the top of the top window sill. You can actually adjust the "shade" by bringing it up or down (carefully). I had mine up in my the apt for more then six years in NY..all seasons. Hot summers. Very cold winters. They hadn't budged until I wanted to remove them. I had four on each window (I had white color). I basically left the "shade" mid way so I didn't have to fuss with them. When you want to remove, a small spray of "goop" on the area for about 20 seconds. Then peel off and wipe clean right away. Thats it.
Good luck
Rabbitgoo is a cling film that you apply with water. Super easy to install and remove, no residue, and provides complete privacy.
