It all depends on your budget and style preferences.
Think about your cooking and cleaning habits, as well. Will you damage grout with acids (tomato cookery, lemons, etc.) ?
Fish scale designs look cute, but can be a pain to clean, as can tile with grooves, raised designs, etc. High gloss tiles will most likely be easier to maintain. If you can avoid it, don't use bright white grout, and preferably, use a professional quality epoxy grout that's easier to maintain.
