How do I trim a round mirror?
i want it to appear as the rope is holding the mirror on the was nautical style. I have nautical hardware to "fake" hang it from and rope i want to use. the mirror has a plain metal band around the edge.

It is really hard to cut a mirror. You need special tools so it doesn’t break so easily. Is the mirror not round now? Or is it that metal band that needs cut?

I would suggest Agnes' method. Just add the rope and cover the metal.
My mirror is already securely hanging on the wall. It is 20" in diameter. I have a single length of rope I want to somehow attach the ends to either side of the mirror with the upper loop of the rope to appear as if it is holding the mirror on my nautical hardware above it.
Can you use wire to hang your mirror, and then glue rope on the wire so it does not show.
