They are good quality so I don't want to replace.
You can use chalk paint to paint your kitchen cabinets. You will have to add a finish coat of wax made for chalk paint or a few coats of poly. There are a few different opinions out there about using chalk paint for kitchen cabinets. If I chose to use chalk paint I would finish it with poly not wax. I prefer using an acrylic latex paint in an enamel finish for kitchen cabinets. It is a paint made for trim and cabinets. It doesn't require a top coat but some people will add a few coats of poly over this paint as well. If you chose to use the paint in the enamel finish you will have to prime first-- a stand alone primer NOT a paint with primer in it--after you have cleaned your cabinets, sanded lightly, and then cleaned the sanding dust off.
Really better just to use oil based paint and primer. More durable and better finish.
