Can I distress this piece of furniture after putting on latex?

Hi! Just Chalk painted this a bright turquoise and now I’m thinking about puting a coat of mint green latex paint over it (before waxing), & then distressing? I guess what I’m asking is can I distress after the latex goes on or is it not recommended...

Yes you can use latex paint for the distressed look. Chalk paint is a fairly recent product and people have been distressing for many, many years. ;) See if this article helps you. Wishing you the best.

Yes, you can but remember distressing should only be done on areas that would normally receive wear. For instance my d.r. chairs are "distressed" by use. But it is on the edges of the feet not in the middle of the back rest.
It will work! Use 220 grit sand paper to lightly go around the edges and distress.
You can also try steel wool and see which one works best for you!

Yes. That is how you get the stain or paint underneath to show thru. Use a fine grit paper and light sand an area where it would bump against feet, hands, walls etc. Do it lightly, stand back and look at it and add more as you go.
I don't think it really matters what you wear when you distress it...
of course you can! Just need to put some elbow grease to it
