I would use treated lumber or composite boards. They can each be painted with exterior paint or stained with an exterior stain (once the treated lumber dries, of course). I hope this helps!
Decking boards from pressure treated lumber are designed for this exact type of application. To keep them in best condition, add a sealer every 2-3 years since it's a porch and will be covered. If uncovered, I would re-seal annually.
