We are on a well so we try to not use bleach. But I have turned the water off to the toilet, flushed again to get rid of the little bit of water left. Then filled the bowl with Coke. Let it sit for 20 minutes then scrub.

I used to have the same problem, but then I discovered Clorox Clinging Bleach Gel (Toilet Stain Remover). Just pour it in and leave on for 10 minutes. Go back and scrub with a brush. Works wonders!
