Home Depot sells a 3 furniture crayon package. I just filled my gouge with the
crayon let stand for a few days, then went over the scratch with a bit of varnish using a toothpick so I wouldn’t spread varnish over the smooth wood. Can hardly tell where the scratch was.
Hope this helps! https://www.wikihow.com/Fix-Deep-Scratches-in-Wood
If you can’t find the crayons for your color of wood, then there’s colored “putty sticks” that are like a filled Tootsie Roll.
Cut off a section of the putty stick & kneed the epoxy filling in your hand. It can be sanded easily when finished.
If they aren't deep you can rub out surface scratches in your wood furniture with a paste made of mineral oil and pumice (available in powder form at hardware and paint stores). Use extra-fine-grade steel wool to rub the mixture into the scratched area. Then wipe it off and buff with a dry cloth.
