There are so many things that can be used to make a nightstand that unless you have a unique need and carpentry ability, I would look for something that fits my need. I have used: a tree stump painted pink for my young daughter, a metal typing table covered with a skirt, a circle of wood on a small bookcase (again skirted) right now I have a Victorian book table (it rotates on its base) and another bed in our house has a bookcase headboard. One of our attic beds has a half circle of wood fastened to the wall, and another bed there has a small 3 drawer chest.
What style? Floating? Hanging? Traditional? What are your needs? I must have storage, Kleenex, medicine, lotion, books and magazines, flashlights, etc. Do you need that?
