How can I repair a worn head rest on a recliner?

Our recliners have ugly worn places where our heads rest....how can we cover these spots?

You could re upholster the pillow only in a coordinating material.

  The headrest is leather and is attached and firmly incorporated into the back of the chair across the top...hard to remove to reupholster

  You could add it on top of existing. Finish the material and then attach with a glue like E6000. I would make it an oval shape so that it doesn't look so much like a placemat lain on the back.
