How do I reduce/eliminate texture on walls?
Looking for potential method to eliminate texture on walls. Looks like prior owner put some sort of textured paneling on bedroom walls, hate it. Would prefer not to pay for new drywalling, skimcoating looks like a ton of work. Wondering about coats of textured paint, applied with non-texturing rollers?

Hi there,
Might work if you Sand the walls down first, otherwise it will stick to the peaks just the same..............Good luck!
I would spackle the cracks/seams and then sand the walls, as suggested above.
Kilz has a newer product for smoothing texture called High Build if you don't want to skim coat the walls.... https://www.amazon.com/Surface-Healing-Interior-Water-Based-1-gallon/dp/B000LNTLX8/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8
Peel N Stick Laminate would look great & it would be smooth. Comes in all colors & styles. Easy putting up, maintaining & cleaning. Peel N Stick isn't just for floors anymore lol.
Try Home Depot, Lowes, or Menard's.
