What paint would you recommend for a child's wooden, stripped rocker?
I was going to refinish this lovely vintage child's rocker, but it has multiple woods which may stain oddly, and it was damaged, needing a large area of fill. Phooey. Must paint. But what paint? I need recommendations for products that can take lots of potential abuse. Ty!

I like working with fusion mineral paint - its an acyrlic base so once fully cured is strong, the downside is it take three weeks to fully cure, The positive is that it not toxic in any way which is super important around children.
I am thinking spray paint might be your best option to cover both the wood and the fill.
A good quality acrylic latex paint in an enamel finish would wear well. This kind of paint is recommended for kitchen cabinets and trim and it does wear well. You would have to prime your chair first and then paint it. I used chalk paint on a child's rocking chair with a waxed finish. It has worn well.
Hello again D! I like these paint brands for an acrylic latex paint in an enamel finish: Sherwin Williams, Behr, Benjamin Moore. You should only need a quart--and that will probably be too much! Rustoleum spray primer will work great under this paint. Another idea you may consider is Rustoleum Chalked paint line. Comes in quart cans to brush on or spray cans. This Chalked spray paint works so great and you wouldn't have so much paint left over! FYI: You NEED to use the clear spray that comes with this Rustoleum Chalked product line. Numerous times I have tried other clear sprays with this spray paint product and had bubbling and cracking--which does work out if you are happy with the distressed look BUT if you want a solid finish--not so much! This is a good inexpensive alternative! Menards has this product line on sale frequently! If you use this spray paint let it dry well in between coats-I do one coat the first day and the second coat the nest day--and that is in the summer when it is warmer so that's plenty of drying time!
I love red as a child's rocker but it's hard to get even. Check out RustOleum Enamel paint. I did a porch rocker in white 1-1/2 years ago for our front porch. It has held up great.
