We scrubbed ours out real good with soap and brush and vinegar. Now we spray it down after every shower with a vinegar mixture that helps remove water minerals and prevents the build up of any mold.
Plain old white vinegar. Vinegar kills mold spores.

Chances are the room needs better ventilation. Crack a window, use the exhaust fan or even a portable fan will work.
