the white is moisture under the finish, some say use mayo on it, I prefer to iron it out, put a cloth over the white area, and use your clothes iron an a medium heat, iron until its gone.
wet a cloth with hydrogen peroxide and lay it on the mark and iron it again on top of the cloth.
Do you have a picture and do you know what caused it? A damp cloth and an iron normally works well.

Ironing it on a low temperature will draw the moisture out, put a dish towel under the iron to take up the moisture, check often and do not use the steam setting.
