hi there! I make my own antique glaze by mixing clear glaze and black paint.
Hi Tammi,
Antique Glaze? for what, Ceramic or wood? I would imagine you just add a little brown to clear glaze, if that helps? Or the Crackle look is made by using Crackle varnish to a top coat that has a chemical reaction. Not certain if you have to buy the two together - Maybe!
Hi Tammi, I use 4 parts Benjamin Moore clear glaze to 1 part color...that is whatever color I want to use as my antique color. (might be charcoal, black, brown colors...sometimes whatever paint I have on hand). I have tried other quantities and 4 to 1 works the best because it will wipe off very easily. I really like this antiquing method even better than antique waxes. I used this on a furniture piece just this past month and it worked perfectly. I will be putting it up on the blog soon with a video if you are interested. Good luck!
I’m not sure what exact project you were talking about but in my crafty needs I just use thinned down with water+ acrylic paints. Apply that over your project. In case of photographs or something like computer print out that might bleed I recommend the use of a sealer or fixative first.
If doing the glaze with a metallic outcome the product rubnbuff could give you a nice highlight with your acrylic washes.
You can mix paint with clear glaze. I've also watered down brown paint and used that before.

I Tammi! I add citrus solvents to dark wax to create a glaze! It works great for furniture or cabinets. :)
