You want to make sure the paint is zero VOC before using it on baby furniture :) shabby chalk paint is one, off the top of my head.
Hi Angie! Check into Annie Sloan's wax. It has passed a toy safety test in Europe. There standards tend to be higher than us in the states. I would probably go with that brand to be on the safe side! :)

As far as babies, it is a no go on anything they could chew that is not safe. milk paint, they should not chew any paint. Can you imagine you or anyone chewing paint of any type?
Ask yourself, why chew wax? Do you?
I would advise against it Angie, even though Milk paint is rated as safe, you don't want to take a chance with a little one.
