What tissue are you using? Charmin always clogs our septic.
Hello. Thats an interesting question.
I wonder if something was possibly flushed by accident thats not compatible with the twists or turns in your plumbing or the septic system. Floss, hair, personal wipes, or tampon comes to mind.
I hope you find a solution.
Maybe it's catching on something in the pipe? Have you tried a plumber's snake? We were having trouble with our downstairs bathroom until we had the line professionally cleaned and a new clean out installed. The plumber told me that you will always have trouble with the lower toilet first when there is a problem with your sewer line, because there is less pressure when it flushes (makes sense).
When we moved into our home, one of the toilets was a low flow toilet and the other was not. The low flow toilet always got clogged until we started using thinner toilet paper. We can only use Scott or Marcal, otherwise that pipe can't handle it. However, it would probably be worth snaking that line to see if something is stuck.
We had a problem with one toilet and snaking it did no good. I removed the toilet and took outside and ran the snake backwards. I finally dislodged a permanent marker. It ran great after that.
Hi, Emily!
It definitely sounds as if something is restricting the line... maybe have a pro take a look at it? I hope this helps!
I have issues with the low flow toilets, yes they are low flow but it takes 2 flushes to remove the contents from the toilet...how is that a water savings?
You just might have to call in a plumber to determine what is actually going on, you can try the remedies that appeal to you and fit your situation, hopefully they will work, if not, consider a pro.
You might want to try Scott Toilet Paper. It's not soft like the other papers, but it is easier on the plumbing.
we have had several septic issues and they told us to use the cheapest toilet paper possible anything especially Charmin will clog up toilets and septics
We use cottonelle ribbed. Never anything that says extra soft or ultimate it's a clog waiting to happen
