The others are right. We removed part of a a load bearing wall in our house but first had a load bearing beam installed by a professional. Wishing you the best.
I agree with Redcatcec above. Your beam needs to be engineered based on the load it will be supporting. This could require a glue lam, or sistered 2x8 or 2x10, or possibly even an I-beam, but this is critical structurally so a true engineer calculation will be needed.
