It depends on the material but I'm thinking Mod Podge would be your best bet.

This is decoupage, just apply to the glass and then add your material:

It depends on its location and function. If it won't be near heat, use a low temp glue gun. If in heat use E3000 that won't melt. In moderate temps use decoupage mix.

I would think Mod Podge since it is a water based sealer, glue and finish all in one.
Buy a tube of silicone. I've used it to attach fishtank glass panels to the stainless steel corners and it held excellently!
Mod Podge would probably be the best way.
