What can I do to protect upholstered chair arms?
My mother is in her lift chair most of the day. There are no arm covers for her chair. I need some ideas of what to use to protect the fabric ...something that won’t slide off or that I need to hold on with upholstery “pins”.

It would seem that one good answer would be to get a slipcover for the entire chair. That way you can take it off and wash it when needed. Many have built in measures that prevent slipping by using hooks and elastic.

I used scotchguard spray ( you have to use it about every 6 months) but spills, stains, etc wipe up so easily ~
Often you can purchase rectangular pieces of upholstery fabric samples at JoAnn's or other stores that sell upholstery. You could use upholstery pins to attach it in certain areas wot hold the upholstery in place. You might also use decorative tea towels and changing patterns once in a while would be a nice change for your mom.
I was going to suggest tea or hand towels also. Find some hand towels that match the color of her chair...I think they would stay in place but be easily removed for washing.
I would simply get one of those quilted fabric recliner protectors.... https://www.wayfair.com/keyword.php?keyword=recliner+covers&command=dosearch&new_keyword_search=true&class_id=
Hello Jonna,
Maybe use some oilcloth to fix in place. It comes in lots of great patterns and colours.......and of course it is spongeable too!
