Is there a furniture paint that does not emit any fumes?
I want to paint a piece of furniture but I live in an apartment. Is there a paint and sealer that doesn't have any fumes? I would appreciate hearing about brand names and any experiences. Thank you.

Mar 10, 2016 - You could buy powdered milk paint. Very easy to apply and dries quickly with no fumes or smell. Coat it with a paste wax after a few days.
I love Fusion Mineral paint for furniture - it's like chalk paint - goes over everything with very little prep and has beautiful colors! Very low odor too.
i would look for a low VOC paint.
Hello. The chalk paints that I have used have been very pleasant to use.
You could use chalk paint
Chalk paint could be used with very low fumes. However, I recommend talking to a professional at Sherwin Wms. or your local paint store. They will give the best advice.
Annie Sloan paint would be a great choice. You can get it at Walmart.
You can get some paints with low VOCs. A painter friend used to add a few drops of vanilla to his paint. It didn't change the color and cut the smell quite a bit.
Thank you to all of you for taking the time to answer. You have all been very helpful!
My favorite odorless furniture paint is Annie Sloan! :)
Dixie Belle :)
All paints are made from chemicals that emit odor..... the best you can hope for is the low VOC paints on the market today...... but there are the old time solutions like making flour paint or milk paint.... https://www.google.com/search?client=opera&q=how+to+make+paint+using+flour&sourceid=opera&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8
The most popular milk paint is Mrs. Mustard Seed that can be brought on Amazon.... or made.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FoIXhj2Ew6s
Both these paints were extremely popular in the 30s and 40s and if you find an old piece you see this stuff wears like cast iron..... all those old red barns were painted with flour paint.
Linseed oil paint is also used by those with allergies.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvLkNoWjKz0
