It’s going to be difficult to get them back into the book’s spine.
If a paperback is worthy of spending the money to get a pro to do it, then that’s what I would do.
Typically, the books are assembled with hot melt glue on the spine as one giant “dip” into the glue. Re-melting that glue is a “Pandora’s Box” from what I have been told.
We used to do this at my school library. There are special fabric tapes that are non-acidic so they won't allow the book to continue to deteriorate. These book binding tapes come in different widths. You can lay one edge along the margin of a loose page, then press the neighboring page against the other side.

Re-gluing may cause a distortion of the page sizing. If the book is not a rare collectible that needs professional conservation-it might be worth trying.

I always just use clear packing tape - not the most glamerous, but paperback bindings can be delicate.
