How would I paint a bare concrete outdoor water fountain?

I know it would need to be sealed first, but what kind of paint would work for the inside part, with water?

I would get some pool paint.

You might also check the marine paints for below the water line. Don't know if it works on concrete but some of those boats are ferro cement. I know Rustoleum has 1 quart cans of it.

Yes, I saw both of those. I sent a note to Rustoleum and they replied that they didn't have any paint they would recommend for the inside of a fountain. The SF gate info vaguely states "oil based latex" but I've seen otherwise in other places. It's frustrating! Thanks for the help though.

Hi Wendy have you checked into the cement and concrete STAINS? That might hold up longer and better than a paint.

You can use exterior paint, I would go with oil based for durability. You might consider concrete stain. I think it would be longer lasting.

You could also seal it with a marine grade finish which lasts a very long time since no salt gets at it.

what paint? I did find some pool paint but it only comes in pool colors. Don't think we want a bright white or blue fountain. Did you find something else?

Concrete stain may be the best product for you.

Called the company that makes it, not for fountains. Too bad, it looks great!

Hi Wendy hope this helps you out, concrete is porous and forgiving so it should work well for you
