How can I build a step or riser to reach my bed easier?
I just bought a new mattress set and my bed is about a foot higher. The problem is I have arthritis, and it's hard for me to climb in. I saw some steps and risers on Amazon,($30 to $100+) but I think I'm capable of building something. this is the one I liked the most..any ideas will be helpful

You can find risers at Walmart for less. Whitmore risers, set of 4 are $9.38. If they are not available in a local store you can order them and have them shipped to the local store for FREE and then you can pick them up. These are the risers I have and they work great. They are about 6 inches tall. But I bought these to make my bed taller so the frame would set up higher and make it easier for me to crawl in and out. You can purchase a "low profile" metal bed frame which is shorter. It will lower your bed closer to the floor. You can also order this from Walmart and from Menards.

Hello. There are some steel bedframes now that you can use that eliminate a box spring. With the elimination of a box spring with a 14 inch tall steel frame be helpful?
We did this in our situation to have storage under the bed. It was the perfect solution for us. Using the bed risers in our situation with the box spring and mattress made the bed too tall for many of our guests.
For further details look at the link below it might give you some ideas of what Iām talking about āyou can read the reviews and Q&A to see if an option you might be able to consider
Hope you find the perfect solution.

You should be able to build a simple platform. It doesn't have to be large. Since you have a 1 foot difference, I would think you could do two 6" steps. Go with a simple design, and make it 4' wide so that exiting the bed you don't have to aim for a small target. I like the style of the photo you posted with your question. Then you can stain it to match or paint.

https://www.stlbeds.com/it-sits-too-high-how-to-lower-my-tall-mattress-boxspring/
When my new mattress set was delivered, I saw it was too high for me, as I have medical issues also. I told him to order me a thinner boxspring and take this one back. That was my easiest solution. It has worked out fine.
Something like that would be super easy to build, just some 2x lumber and some screws and you can make it any size you'd like.
The photo is a perfect platform. Use 2X4's about 12" long for the 3 legs. Three 1X4's about 18" to 24" long for the top. That should give you 4 1/2" height and wide enough to comfortably stand on. Lay out the two end legs first. Glue and screw the 1X4's to the legs spacing them evenly. Then center the middle leg and screw it. Lightly sand all sharp edges. Pain, stain, or leave natural.
thank you so much. That's exactly what I''m going to do. Making this will cost much less than spending $45 on Amazon
You ought to have the option to assemble a basic stage. It doesn't need to be enormous. Since you have a 1-foot contrast, I would figure you could do two 6" steps. Go with a straightforward plan, and make it 4' wide so that leaving the bed with best rv mattress short queen you don't need to focus on a little objective. I like the style of the photograph you posted with your inquiry. At that point, you can stain it to match or paint.
