Dye on the lino floor
How do I paint over a stained lino as I can't get to the shops now?
With dying my hair at home I have splashed dye on the walls and the lino flooring. Can I just paint it over? Cannot get to shops to buy new lino.

Beauty supply stores have curb pick up here and I would order 40 volume (hair dye) Peroxide and soak a rag with it and lay it on top of the floor for a full day.
Wear gloves as 40 Vol is a bit caustic.
Basically you’re bleaching the hair dye with hair bleach.
I would not paint over that at all ..it would not last .Wait till you can go to the stores to replace that linoleum floor
I have seen people paint linoleum flooring, I don't know how well it works, if it lasts, etc. It is a lot of work though. You'll need to prime the floor, paint it and then seal it. Here is a DIY that shows the process. https://www.hometalk.com/diy/floors-ceilings/how-to-paint-linoleum-floors-43363738

You will need to use a primer, than paint over it.
You can paint it. just prep it well and try an oil based paint for linoleum
Thanks everybody. I will get some primer and oil based paint for the lino. And silk washable bathroom paint for the walls.
Clean floor, paint with bonding primer. You can paint with same kind of paint you would paint a bedroom with, use a flat paint. Top coat with several coats of water based exterior poly. This is your wear layer, just like vinyl floor covering. Foot traffic is on the clear finish, not the colored paint underneath. As time goes by you will need to clean and apply a fresh coat of clear finish. Do this before you wear down to the colored layer.
Bonding primer works well with slick smooth surfaces. We used it to paint our PVC piping - unhappy seeing the manufacturers lettering on it in exposed pipes our laundry room.
