Hi Tonna, The easiest way would be to purchase some hair pin legs. They can be screwed in.
You can pick up all sorts of legs at home improvement Centers. Choose your fave and just screw them on. A really easy project!
I like the chunky, short legs for this. But the type you add depends on your ultimate purpose. You can purchase the kind that just screw onto the crate.
Here's one way you can add legs to a crate!

What are the dimensions of the crates, and how much do they each weigh?
What are you wanting to put inside them, or how are you planning to use them after they have legs attached?
Mark where you want your wooden furniture legs and pre-drill holes. If you don't have enough work space for the legs, you'll need to add a small piece of wood to the underside before attaching the legs. Next hammer in your Tee nuts into your pre-drilled holes. Then screw the furniture legs into the Tee nuts. This will work for wood legs. If you want to use hairpin legs it's pretty much the same process except you use a screw to attach them. I prefer to add wood blocks under where my legs attach for the additional strength.
Jewellery or collectors boxes.
Screw the legs in place from underneath!
