Slate and grout lines?
You didn't do anything different with your grout lines. I get it white on white. I'm trying to learn the steroids for painting my entryway slate tiles. I want to do them in black and the grout in a dark grey. Do I do the grout after the tiles or before? If after, do I tape them off??

you do not add the grout until your tiles are laid and are set here is more info

Sorry but this is a general forum. Please respond directly to the person who posted the project you are referring to. Thanks!
You can get a grout pen which makes it easy to be precise
If you’re painting real slate tiles, it’s not going to stay on the tiles.
Also, real slate tiles will “hold on to” any real grout and I would use a Grout Release product before using any grout on natural stone, in addition to taping them off and burnishing the tape.
Grout comes in about 5 shades of gray. I’d select one that is non-sanded and acrylic modified.
Hi CJ. The tiles go down first and then you grout them. But there's a lot of prep work first. I suggest you go to You Tube for a step-by-step tutorial. Good luck CJ.
You should post this on the actual project comment section so that the creator can answer you properly. They probably won't see this.
Try to find the original post you are asking about, they would love to hear your questions about their project.
An alternative way is to post a few key words by the magnifying glass at the top left of the page, then select projects. Best to you.
I painted my grout and didn't tape it off, just took my time and used an artist paint brush. I would say tile first, then grout.
Tile would go down first. Here is a beginners video on how to grout tile: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxPmaMQYkOU
paint tiles first. Then mask out grout lines. Them paint grout lines. Good luck
